Creative Process
This pattern was created by making a collage using Bauhaus' modern graphic elements to form a colorful pattern, also, I have put some elements of the masterpiece "Decalcomania" by the surrealist painter René Magritte. Combining the pattern with the elements of the artwork and putting them reflected to each other in a mirror illusion, the final result was flashy and surrealist, guiding our eyes to look through to see what is really going on. By looking further you can even see the shape of something like a heart or a triangle, and when you are closer you can see the man with a hat behind everything else.
The Name "Decalcometria"
As stated above, I have used a painting called "Decalcomania", a technique where designs are transferred to other materials, thus, the name starts with "Decalco". Apart to the artwork, I have also used geometric elements from Bauhaus, and since "geometria" is geometry in portuguese, I have put it at the end, making kind of a joke with the title.

Essa estampa foi criada a partir de uma colagem, usando de elementos modernos da Bauhaus para formar uma estampa colorida, além disso, usei também alguns elementos da obra "Decalcomania" do pintor surrealista René Magritte. Combinando o padrão com elementos da pintura e colocando-os refletidos numa "ilusão espelho", o resultado final foi cativante e surrealista, levando nosso olhar para ver além e tentar entender o que está realmente acontecendo. Olhando mais de longe conseguimos até mesmo ver o formato de algo que se parece com um coração ou triângulo, e quando você vê mais de perto, consegue enxergar o homem com o chapéu por detrás de tudo isso.
O Nome "Decalcometria"
Como dito acima, usei a pintura chamada "Decalcomania", que é uma técnica em que você transfere suas artes para outros materiais, por isso, o nome começa com "Decalco". Fora a obra, utilizei também de elementos geométricos da Bauhaus, usando assim do final da palavra "geometria" no título, gerando uma brincadeira na mistura de palavras.

Creative Process
The creation of this pattern was done inspired by the deconstruction trends of postmodernism combined with the grunge style present in the disc covers of rock bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. The ideia was to unite the diversity of designs from those decades in one pattern cointaining different fragments of these disc covers, and for a main "rock n' roll" ambiance, a grayish and "dirty" background remits us to the grunge and old record stores. This pattern teases the mind of the observer so that he/she can see the elements and try to guess to which disc they belong, also, by looking closer you can notice details that are almost imperceptible, it's the combination of styles with the exploration of the human senses.
The Name "Rock n' Peace"
Due to the strong presence of the grunge style and the elements of rock bands discs, the title of this pattern makes reference to the motto "Rock n' Roll". With only the replacement of the word "roll" for "peace", because although the elements are distributed randomly, there is still the presence of symmetry in the pattern, instigating the observers to understand what is going on with that "organized mess", that is a mix of rock and harmony.

A criação deste padrão foi realizada inspirada nas tendências de desconstrução do pós-modernismo aliada ao estilo grunge presente nas capas de discos das mais diversas bandas de rock dos anos 60, 70 e 80 e 90. A ideia é juntar a diversidade dos designs dessas décadas em uma estampa com os diferentes fragmentos dessas capas de disco, e para uma maior ambientação do “rock n’ roll” , um fundo cinzento “sujo” remete ao grunge e as antigas lojas de discos. Essa estampa provoca a mente do observador para que ele possa interpretar de quais discos são os elementos presentes e como ao olhar mais de perto você consegue notar detalhes antes quase imperceptíveis, é a junção de estilos com a exploração dos sentidos humanos.
O Nome "Rock n' Peace"
Devido à forte presença do estilo grunge e aos elementos dos discos de bandas de rock, o título do padrão faz referência ao lema "Rock n' Roll" .Substitui-se apenas a palavra "roll" por "peace" (paz), visto que embora os elementos estejam distribuídos aleatoriamente, ainda há a presença de simetria na estampa, instigando assim os observadores à entenderem o que se passa nessa "bagunça organizada", que é uma mistura de rock e harmonia.

Creative Process
This pattern was created by using a lot of symmetry and collages. Just as in the first pattern, I have used Bauhaus' elements to do a composition with geometrical elements and captivating colors. Only, now, the ideia of the psychedelic, mandalas, kaleidoscopes and abstract shapes are also there, which is possible to see in the pattern as a whole, whereas the elements are symmetrically assembled, but at the same time spread with the diversity of the collage.
The Name "Messy Symmetry"
Since the present elements create forms as in a kaleidoscope, generating a kind of mandala, we can observe the symmetry also in the name. Now, the messy part can be seen in the way the elements are spread in the composition, leading people to an interesting mental game, realizing how things that are so different can be put together in balance.

Essa estampa foi criada usando de muita simetria e colagem. Assim como no primeiro padrão, usei de elementos da Bauhaus para criar uma composição com elementos geométricos e cores cativantes. Porém, dessa vez a ideia do psicodelismo, mandalas, calendoscópios e formas abstratas também se fez presente, o que é possível observar no conjunto como um todo, visto que os elementos estão simetricamente colocados, mas ao mesmo tempo espalhados com a diversidade da colagem.
O Nome "Messy Symmetry" (Simetria desorganizada)
Como os elementos presentes criam formas como num calendoscópio, gerando assim uma espécie de mandala, observamos a simetria ("symmetry") também no nome. Já a desorganização ("messy") é perceptível pela distribuição variada de elementos na estampa, criando assim um jogo mental interessante na mente das pessoas, ao perceberem como coisas tão distintas se juntam em equilíbrio.
